Capitaine des grenadiers du 85me régiment de ligne

This illustration depicts a Captain of the Grenadiers from the 85th line regiment of Napoleon’s Grande Armée, in around 1807. To make this portrayal as accurate as possible, I based my research on multiple contemporary illustrations including a portrait of a Captain of the 85th Grenadiers that appeared at a private auction and a plate from the “Otto manuscript”.
